Attorney John Fitzgerald provides both tenacious legal representation and skillful negotiation, always working to find the smartest resolution and most sensible outcome.
He has represented clients in a broad spectrum of commercial disputes, including trade secret, employment and securities litigation. His clients have included small-business entrepreneurs, real-estate developers, university professors, officers of publicly traded companies and executives of NFL teams.
A Bay Area native, Fitzgerald honed his skills at such firms as Cotchett, Illston & Pitre and Pinnacle Law Group, LLP; and he has served as general counsel and chairman of the board of the St. Francis Yacht Club in San Francisco. Designated as a “Super Lawyer” from 2005–2006 and 2008–2017, he has extensive trial and appellate experience, representing both plaintiffs and defendants in federal and state courts.
Fitzgerald has taught trial advocacy at the University of San Francisco School of Law for more than two decades. He is a member of the American Bar Association and the San Francisco and San Mateo County Bar Associations. Admitted to the State Bar of California, he holds a JD from Santa Clara University and a BA in economics from the University of Notre Dame.
